S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Hector Meza for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love the Good News that Jesus came to set us free and set things right. To bring us back into relationship with the Father. I love seeing people “get it” and decide to follow Jesus.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’ve always been curious and have always wanted to share what I’ve learned with others. There are some deep and powerful truths when we dig in God’s word.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
People seem to notice that I encourage them a lot. I think that has to do with the fact that I recognize how God has shown me mercy and how others need to see that too.
[H]eart
1. Worship, whether it’s listening to it or playing.
2. When I see students get involved leading or sharing what God is doing in their lives.
3. I love to teach and give people something profound to chew on that maybe they haven’t previously considered.
I love to work with people who are willing to try new things and dream. And people that are passionate about Jesus. I guess that spans most ages.
I believe that keeping the next generation connected to the larger church body is an issue that both excites me and gives me concerns. I’m excited when I see it happen but am concerned that it doesn’t happen as much as it should.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
I was saved as a child but really became a mature believer my senior year of High school. I had lived a rebellious life to some degree and when that failed me in a dramatic way, Jesus was there to lift me up and restore me.
For the last seven years I have served in a Methodist church in New Jersey as the Youth Pastor.
For 3 years I served at a Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Queens, NY as the Youth Pastor.
Prior to seminary I served as a youth volunteer and drama leader at an Assemblies of God church in Pennsylvania for roughly six years.
Teaching in a public school. I’m still hearing stories and getting messages of the impact students say I had on their life.
During my last year of seminary I spent a lot of time with my cousins. Most of them are very involved in their churches now and one is studying to be in ministry.
I was a teen and my Dad was working two jobs. One summer, he was laid off from the bigger one. He sat with us on our front porch and told us that God would provide. Within a few months he had been promoted at the remaining job. He ended up making more money than if he had kept on working both jobs.
My senior year I got involved in a bad relationship that drew me away from God. The break up led to a falling out with some friends who I felt closer to than my family. The whole process however let me know about how faithful Jesus is and how restorative a relationship with Him is. I’ve been able to counsel students who feel like they’ve messed up and been able to see that God is a healer!
I was a part of a youth choir in a small hispanic church growing up. One time we paired with a larger and trained choir. I was having trouble with a song and the director from the larger choir embarrassed me. I had just wanted to sing for Jesus and I felt rejected. But I learned to be balanced when giving people criticism to affirm their passion while helping them to discover their gifts. I also had to learn to forgive the brother who had made me feel so bad.
After being a youth volunteer for many years I was encouraged by everyone in my home church to pursue full-time ministry. Yet when I inquired about any scholarships that were available to help, I was told that the church didn’t do those anymore. I felt really left hanging by a church I had invested of my time, dedication and money to over the years. It gave me a heart for those who are also struggling and hoping for some help. I want a church who will care more about the people than the objects in the building, though those are important as well.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. I would write or act or create films/plays that would be real and help people connect with God.
4. I would start a school where kids could learn all sort of things though God filtered lenses.
5. Start a trend where instead of rich Christians buy their dream home or a vacation home they would look to buy a home for someone else who can’t.
