[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to connect with others! I enjoy talking about my life and faith with good friends. I am very relational and like forming deep connections with other believers.

2. I like to learn. I enjoy learning languages or reading books and scripture. I also enjoy journaling and writing.

3. I like to sing and praise God with worship music.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I like to work with people who are responsible, kind, and positive. I tend to form relationships with other believers, either those that are older than me (50-65) and can share wisdom or those who are similar in age (23-30) who can encourage and walk with me as we get closer to God. I really enjoy working with high schoolers, but I feel that I’m not mature or equipped enough to disciple them yet. I want to become more equipped to serve them.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Welcoming outsiders/being a loving community. Youth ministry.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a Christian home. I accepted Jesus as my savior in middle school. Even though I attended church and believed in him, I didn’t have a relationship with him until I was in my 20s. For the past 8 months, God has been moving in me and revealing himself in new ways. I now have a desire to know him more and to help others accept them as their savior.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Sioux County Young Life, Sioux Center, Iowa, Volunteer Leader 2023-2024

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Serving as a Young Life leader. It made me realize that life without Christ is really hopeless. It gave me a reality check and made me determined to share my faith.

Traveling in Latin America for 3 months. Witnessing the beauty and sadness in some countries.

Moving to Korea to teach. Finding a new community, trying a new job.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Bullying, feeling unaccepted by others/not good enough in my life.

Attempted sexual assault in my childhood and the fears surrounding attraction that came from that.

My father’s alcoholism.
