S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Julie Dieffenbach for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy doing life with other people. I like talking in small group and hearing others stories. I am not a fan of evangelizing to strangers and feel that it works better through building a relationship and earning their trust and respect.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I wouldn’t say a gift of mine is words of affirmation, but I think an encouragement can be just showing up and learning together. If someone is competing or performing for something, they could feel more value if people are there cheering for them.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Looking back I wouldn’t say I have this gift because I always pictured this as leading large groups of people. However, I think some, like myself, could have the ability to lead a few people, because of referent power. I can lead them not because I know a lot but because I have earned their trust and respect.

This may not exist in Prov Coatesville but I believe from during/after high school to maybe the 30s young adults fall away from their faith and/or stop going to church. You can see it in how connected but disconnected they are. Young adults I think will have many surface level relationships but few genuine, deep relationships. They lack community where there is loving God and loving one another.
I think this has been and will continue to be an issue is the judgement of Christians judging other Christians or non-believers. Sometimes it is even hard to recognize in one self. We may think we are being warm and inviting but we are subconsciously not accepting them based on appearance, or language, or if we know them a little bit background or life choices.
In my counseling programs we talk often about the LGBTQA community. I think it is only going to become more of a widespread issue at younger ages and the church is not all unified in how to respond. Children are now wanting to change their gender and transition in elementary or middle school. Some think gay marriage is fine others do not.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
Growing up my family went to church almost every Sunday, Sunday school, and my mom led Pioneer clubs from when I was in 2nd grade to 6th grade. When I was 7 or 8 I was saved at a Steven Courtney concert. (he was a kid singer). But I didn’t really know what it meant to grow and have my own faith until early high school. At the time my family was a part of Presbyterian church. They talked about God and the Bible but not so much the Gospel and having a relationship with Jesus. During my junior year of high school I started going to my friends youth group which is where I learned the importance of sharing the Gospel and eventually my family started going to church there.
