S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Andrea Bussey for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

[H]eart
1. I love to spend quality time with close friends and family.
2. I love to bring people together to enjoy each other, experience new things together and support each other.
3. I love the feeling of making a positive difference in someone’s life, important decision or challenging situation.
Not sure of the context of “work,” but professionally, I like to work people who are middle-aged and have more experience than me. Within ministry, I like to work with people my age who are constantly pursuing a stronger walk with Christ. In volunteer work, I like to work with Black teenage girls, and I would like to starting working with elementary students in their formative years of literacy education.
I think it’s important for churches to provide more bible teaching for children.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
Christianity was passed down to me from my parents and “village.” I was active in church from the earliest time I can remember, attending Sunday and countless church events, conferences and activities. I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was 8 or 9 years old. I walked down to the front of my (pretty big) home church, by myself and professed my faith to my Pastor and the congregation. I have been a Believer nearly my whole life, but my faith really grew and began to consciously impact my daily life when I was around 25 and living in Chicago on my own.
Antioch Baptist Church North (home church in Atlanta) – usher, youth bank teller, choir member
Fellowship Missionary Baptist (Chicago) – young adults ministry, communications team, First Lady’s event planning committee
When I was around 12, my mom put me on a plane to Boston by myself and told me to figure out how to get where I needed to be when I arrived. It taught me 1) to always read signs, 2) to have confidence in my abilities, and 3) to speak confidence into others when they’re feeling unsure.
The first youth retreat I attended when I was 13. The experience of being on “The Land” (the former plantation in middle GA owned by the church that was used for retreats) delivered a spiritual breakthrough and shared experience with friends that I often reflect on.
Attending Hampton University. The HBCU experience, aspects both good and not ideal, provided perspective on life and circumstances that helped shape who I am today.
The sudden death of my father when I was 17.
The unexpected ER visit, surgery and hospital stay in February 2016 that resulted in the diagnosis of an incurable disease that typically has lifelong effects.

- Everyone Else After those
3. To discover and fulfill God’s purpose for my life.
